Your First Visit and What to Expect
Welcome to Long Run Health, an evidence-based musculoskeletal and sports rehabilitation clinic in Beaverton, Oregon. Our approach is different from traditional chiropractic care: we emphasize active rehabilitation, patient education, and pain self-efficacy rather than predetermined long-term treatment plans or dependence on passive care. Our goal is to help you understand your condition, restore your physical capacity, and get back to the activities you enjoy.
A Comprehensive Evaluation: Your initial visit is approximately 2 hours and includes both evaluation and treatment. Rather than looking only at the area that hurts, we assess how your body moves and how your symptoms relate to the demands of your sport, work, or daily life. This may include joint mobility, functional movement, muscle strength, tissue load tolerance, and running, lifting, or sport-specific mechanics. Musculoskeletal ultrasound may also be used when clinically appropriate. Most importantly, we’ll explain what we find, what may be contributing to your symptoms, and what you can do about it.
Treatment + Rehabilitation: Treatment begins during your first visit and is individualized to your condition and goals. Care may include Active Release Techniques (ART), joint manipulation or mobilization, Low Level Laser Therapy, movement retraining, strength testing, and therapeutic exercise. Hands-on care is used as an adjunct to help reduce pain, improve comfort with movement, and build confidence—not as something you need to rely on indefinitely. Rehabilitation is the foundation of long-term improvement.
Your Personalized Exercise Plan: Following your evaluation, you’ll receive a customized rehabilitation program based on your findings, current capacity, and goals. Your exercises are designed to progressively improve strength, movement, and load tolerance while helping you become more confident managing your body independently. The goal is not to keep you in treatment—it’s to give you the tools to get back to what you do.
Follow-Up Visits: Follow-up visits are approximately 60 minutes and focus on reassessment, rehabilitation progression, and treatment when appropriate. Many uncomplicated musculoskeletal and sports injuries may require approximately 2–6 visits, although every case is different. We don’t prescribe the same treatment schedule to everyone, and we don’t believe in scheduling visits simply to keep you coming back.
Motor Vehicle Accident Care: Long Run Health also treats patients injured in motor vehicle accidents. Because auto injuries may involve multiple areas and require more frequent reassessment, these cases can follow a different timeline than typical sports injuries. Our approach remains focused on reducing pain, restoring comfortable movement, progressively rebuilding capacity, and returning you to normal activity. Motor vehicle accident care may be billed through Oregon Personal Injury Protection (PIP) when applicable.
Our goal is simple: help you understand what’s going on, create a clear path forward, and get you back to the activities that matter to you. Read our Google Reviews!
Self-Pay, Health Insurance & Auto Accident Care
Long Run Health is a self-pay clinic and does not bill private health insurance. This allows us to provide longer appointments and individualize care without treatment decisions being dictated by insurance visit limits or pre-authorization requirements.
Self-Pay Pricing: Our standard self-pay appointment is $245 for the initial evaluation and treatment (approximately 2 hours) and $140 for a follow-up visit (approximately 1 hour). Additional appointment time may be available when appropriate based on the patient’s individual needs and goals. Any additional charges will be discussed with the patient in advance.
Health Insurance & Superbills: Although we do not bill private health insurance directly, superbills are available upon request for patients who wish to seek possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is determined by your individual insurance plan and is not guaranteed.
Motor Vehicle Accidents / PIP: Long Run Health accepts eligible Personal Injury Protection (PIP) claims for injuries resulting from motor vehicle accidents. Motor vehicle injuries can differ from typical sports and musculoskeletal conditions and may require additional evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and ongoing reassessment.
Care is individualized based on the nature and complexity of the injuries, clinical findings, progress, and functional goals. Because every accident and injury is different, the type, frequency, and duration of care may vary from patient to patient.
If you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident, please contact Long Run Health to discuss your case and PIP coverage before scheduling.
Medicare: At this time, Long Run Health is not accepting new Medicare patients.
